November 8th-December 20th, 2025: Hive Mind

Hive Mind, hosted by NAV Arts, is an exhibition centered on communication and connection. Participating artists were divided into three groups, each led by a captain. Every captain began by sharing one completed artwork with their group—without any explanation of its meaning or creation. Based solely on visual interpretation, each artist created their own response piece. Once finished, the group’s collective works (excluding the original) were passed to another captain, who then interpreted that new set of images in turn. Through this process, themes, styles, and techniques evolved organically, resulting in a final exhibition that showcases the full interconnected body of work from all participating artists. This exhibit will be on show at the NH Audubon Massabesic Center in Auburn, NH.

"Koi No Yokan" Piece Project

I chose to title this piece Koi No Yokan, a Japanese phrase that describes the feeling upon meeting someone and sensing that you are destined to fall in love. It’s not immediate love at first sight, but a quiet knowing that it will come. I represented my partner and myself as koi fish in a pond with wooden lily pads and a cat paw surrounding us. In Japanese culture, koi symbolize perseverance, strength, and enduring love, often swimming together as a pair to represent unity and mutual growth. Through this imagery, the piece captures the idea of two souls naturally drawn together, moving gracefully through the currents of life and love. Below also shows the art piece we were given ☺
