Hive Mind Exhibit Piece

I chose to title this piece Koi No Yokan, a Japanese phrase that describes the feeling upon meeting someone and sensing that you are destined to fall in love. It’s not immediate love at first sight, but a quiet knowing that it will come. I represented my partner and myself as koi fish in a pond with wooden lily pads and a cat paw surrounding us. In Japanese culture, koi symbolize perseverance, strength, and enduring love, often swimming together as a pair to represent unity and mutual growth. Through this imagery, the piece captures the idea of two souls naturally drawn together, moving gracefully through the currents of life and love.
